Why does Absorb-TEQ work better than a regular sponge material?
A better cleaning pad:
The unique and patented formulation allows for a higher ILD (Indentation Load Deflection) which provides for a more rigid material, allowing the teeth of our cleaning pads to apply greater pressure at the very bottom of the treads’ grooves, where the majority of dirt accumulates. By generating more pressure at the bottom of the tread or riser grooves, more dirt is removed faster, with less effort.
A larger cleaning surface:
Because Absorb-TEQ is so rigid, a backer material (found on other brands) is not required. Because sponge is normally soft, it cannot withstand the pressures generated by an escalators’ movement. Backer materials are added to resolve this material weakness, to increase the strength of the pads. However, since backer materials are made from PE (Polyethylene) performance is diminished because PE is a closed cell foam, not designed or intended to clean.
With Absorb-TEQ, the entire pad cleans, and cleans with up to 25% more cleaning surface, delivering up to 25% faster and better cleaning.
Absorb-TEQ is a dirt magnet:
The unique patent pending formulation of Absorb-TEQ also delivers a better cleaning result because of its more aggressive cell structure. Feel the texture of an Absorb-TEQ pad and feel the cleaning power generated by its design, allowing our pads and our systems to remove more dirt faster, with less effort.
 
If you need more cleaning power, use with our Clean-TEQ solution, diluted 10:1 with water.
Use a light mist of diluted Clean-TEQ solution, sprayed directly onto the riser to be cleaned or, spray onto the cleaning pad before use.
 
Why use Clean -TEQ instead of any other cleaning solution?
Escalators are the most expensive, most visible and often, the most dangerous flooring in any building. Therefore, escalators have critical requirements that if not properly met, can create exposure to hazards or cause damage to their finishes, components or safety systems.
Clean-TEQ is formulated to be safe for use on all escalator and travellator (walkway) brands models and finishes. Clean-TEQ is a “quat based”  neutral pH, low foaming, no rinse cleaner with anti-corrosion and slip resistance additives. Clean-TEQ dissolves oil, grease and mineral soiling. Clean-TEQ  dries quickly leaving no slippery residue when used as directed.
Important:
 
Clean-TEQ is the only solution formulated specifically for use with Absorb-TEQ pads. Using other cleaning solutions may compromise the pads life expectancy, cleaning effectiveness and, the ability to rinse out adequately for reuse.
Other cleaning solutions may leave a residue, potentially damaging the escalators treads finish or, cause the treads to become slippery, especially when drinks are spilled on them.
Other cleaning solutions may not have corrosive inhibitors, potentially causing damage to the mechanics or electronics, including safety systems that operate beneath.
